Time to make a move, thought Enthus.
He pulled the trigger and the arrow whirred straight to the wall on top of the guard. Then he fixed the rope to the nearest branch in a flash. The guard stirred. Before the guard even had the chance to see the rope, Enthus made a flying fox across and came upon her face with his feet first like a cannon ball. The three guards below would have heard the commotion. “Zero-Three, go,” said Enthus, communicating to Zero-Three by using his brain through his neural communicator. Enthus looked below and saw the three guards below walking away from the wall of the building to inspect the noise above. Enthus smiled at them and waved. Before one of them could shout, the robot walloped them from behind. A short shriek from one of them and the three of them were down. The machine is pretty quick at getting rid of them three, thought Enthus as the machine marched towards the back door below followed by the two on his team. But the punch that the machine gave to one of guards was a bit harsh; she might very well be dead. Enthus shook his head. He signaled the two who were still on the tree to rope across.
Above is an excerpt from the novel. Here we have Enthus. The following shows his first meeting with Alia.
As they turned the left corner out of the junction, the man looked at Alia with an odd smile. “Hi,” said the man, taking his shades off. “Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Enthus, what's yours?”
Alia felt reluctant to answer at first. But the man held honest orange eyes. “Alia,” she said.
“Alia huh? That's a nice name,” said the man named Enthus. “So what's a girl like you doing here?”
Alia decided not to answer.
“Oh come on,” said the officer, “trust me, I mean it when I said I won't hurt you. You told me your name did you not? What more could hurt if you tell me why you're here?”
Alia pursed her lips. “Where are you taking me?” she asked.
“Hmm, I haven't really thought about it,” said the man, “but how about joining me for lunch?”
“Please let me go,” said Alia.
The man in the brown and black uniform frowned. “Alright, but please promise me you won't run away. I can help you, whatever it is you wish to find here.”
“Let me go.”
“Alright, sure,” said Enthus as he released his grip on Alia's arm. “Please don't go.” Alia was not certain of what to do. The man seemed honest enough. The man swiped his fingers through his brown middle parted hair. “Is there anything you need? Anything at all? I can help.”
The following is his first meeting with Humzah.
Enthus took a more thorough look at him and found the green eyes and the cloak that Magnon does not have. Then an excited thought flowed through him and it made him shudder. “You're Humzah?!” exclaimed Enthus.
“You know my new name. So you know me yes?”
“Yes! Yes I do!” said Enthus, almost feeling like jumping. “Alia was searching for you!”
“Alia?!” The machine named Humzah held Enthus with its large hands by the shoulders. “She was searching for me? When? How do you know her?”
“She was searching for you, but she had given up,” said Enthus, who began to realise that the situation no longer felt as good as before.
“What? Where is she now?”
P.S. Those who visited The Gongreash Void when Blogger automatically put it up after I deleted it would be fimiliar with this post. Blogger must have really like this post because it was on the front page of that pretigous turned rubbish blog (snicker).
